John Deere manufactured the STX38 Riding Mower from 1988 to 1997. STX38 Yellow-deck:(1988-1993)-STX38 Black-deck:(1994-1997) The early STX38 was powered by a 12.5 hp Kohler 1-cyl gas engine and 5 speed gear transaxle. The later models were powered by a 13 hp Kohler 1-cyl gas engine and offered both a hydrostatic and a 5 speed gear transaxle. Available attachments were a 38" 2 blade mid-mount mower deck, and a front mount 38" snowblower.
