The John Deere 4000 Tractor was manufactured in Iowa from 1969 to 1972 as a row crop tractor. The 4000 tractor was powered by a 107 hp John Deere 5.9L 6-cyl gas engine or a 6.6L 6-cyl diesel engine. Equipped with a Syncro-Range transmission with 8 forward and 2 reverse gears or a PowerShift transmission with 8 forward and 4 reverse gears.
The serial number can be found on the rear of the tractor above the PTO shaft.
